Tânia A. Cardoso (StudioTako) is an illustrator with a background in architecture and urbanism. She earned her PhD at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on using illustration as an analytical tool to enhance urban communication. Tânia's work redefines spaces and offers new perspectives on daily life through reportage art. She co-founded the Walking as Research Practice (WARP) group and established StudioTako, her illustration studio, which focuses on visual storytelling, urban chronicles, and research. Her illustrations have been featured in international exhibitions, including "Getenkend: Rotterdam! Mag ik bestaan?" at Kunsthal Rotterdam in the Netherlands, and have been published in books and magazines, such as "Come to Your Senses" by Nai010 publishers and Le Monde Diplomatique Portugal. She has received several awards, including the "Worldwide Picture Book Illustration Competition" in the Netherlands in 2015. Currently, Tânia collaborates with residents, cultural associations and iconic buildings, blending illustration and archival research with urban activism.
